Five steps from turf to a send. Screenshots show the English admin and canvass screens.
1
Create a neighbourhood
Admin or leaderAdmin → Voters tab, Neighbourhoods
Open the Voters tab.
Under Neighbourhoods, enter a name for the cell.
Paste postal codes or FSAs (for example M5V or M5V 2T6), comma or line separated.
Click Save neighbourhood.
Watch out.Leaders can create and edit lists they made. Only an admin can delete a neighbourhood.
Name the neighbourhood and list the postal codes or FSAs it covers.
2
Add a canvasser
Admin or leaderAdmin → Team tab
Open the Team tab.
Enter a username and email. In production they get a link to set their password.
Set Role to Canvasser — add voters on mobile.
Check the campaigns they should see, then Save member.
Watch out.Leaders can add canvassers, not other leaders or admins. On a local test server, if you skip email they sign in with the same password as you.
Create the canvasser on the Team tab and give them campaign access.
3
Assign the neighbourhood
Admin or leaderSame Team form — Neighbourhoods checkboxes
On Add team member, set Role to Canvasser so Neighbourhoods appears.
Check the neighbourhoods they will walk.
Save member. You can also edit an existing canvasser and change their turf later.
Watch out.Empty assignment means no turf: they cannot add or see households anywhere.
Check the neighbourhoods this canvasser is allowed to work.
4
Canvass a household
Canvasser, leader, or adminCanvass page (/canvass)
Open Canvass (from the header, or sign in as a canvasser).
Type the street address. Lookup fills the postal code; change the address if you need a new postal.
Enter name and phone. Set Vote (for / against / undecided), ask Yes or No to messages, and set this visit’s outcome.
Add other voters at the same door if needed, then Save constituent.
Watch out.The postal must match an assigned neighbourhood. A door outside turf is rejected. Admins and non-local leaders are not limited this way.
Add a new household from the door. The walk list below is existing turf, not this form.
5
Write a message and send it
Admin or leaderAdmin → Messages tab
Open the Messages tab and pick the campaign.
Click Add message. Write an SMS body with placeholders such as {{first_name}} and {{link}}. Email subject and body are optional.
Save templates. HQ templates can only be changed by an admin; leaders copy one as their own version.
Under Send, choose channel, message, audience, support lean, and neighbourhood. Click Send.
Watch out.Canvassers never send. A send needs a campaign, a template, and at least one voter who said yes to messages at the door. Households marked do not knock are skipped like opt-outs.
Add a template. Placeholders are replaced per voter when you send.Filter who gets the wave, then Send. Use neighbourhoods to stay inside a cell.
